Preschool
The St Bartholomew’s Preschool aims to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate program for children ages 3 to 5 that will foster each child's worth, socially, cognitively, emotionally, and physically. As a Christian preschool we seek to share our faith in Christ by helping the children understand the world God has made and the love Jesus has for each one of them. We also aim to support parents and families as they lead their children on a path toward a lifetime of learning. In order to flourish and grow, young children need age-appropriate activities to stir their imaginations and entice their curious nature. We provide such opportunities by encouraging children to explore and expand their unique abilities, interests and ideas through:
* Learning Centers * Music & Movement * Dramatic Play * Socialization
* Playhouse * Blocks * Creative Art * Language Arts
* Story Time * Library Corner * Chapel * Cooking
Develop social skills within a group setting are as important as individual growth. We teach children the importance of others' thoughts and ideas, how to share and how to take turns. We focus our lessons on activities and skills such as:
* Teaching that God loves them * Build self confidence
* Encouraging recognition of letters, numbers, shapes and colors
* Increased interest in books
St. Bart's Preschool is fortunate to have a qualified, dedicated and caring staff. All of our teachers meet the state requirements for Early Childhood Education units, and they are first-aid trained and certified. Our director, Penny Ribnik, has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Stanford University and worked in the business community for many years. In preparation for a teaching career, Penny participated in the Early Childhood Education program at Miramar College and taught at the preschool before becoming the director.
