A Banner Month

At the Vestry meeting on Tuesday night, we breathed a collective sigh of happiness for this past month. I’m sure you noticed that we had four BIG weeks in a row: Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter, the Gala, and the Bishop’s Visitation. Please give a nod to our congregation members and staff who made all this possible. Thanks be to God, it was joyous and successful by all measures. As a result, we continue to be good news to each other and the community.

While all this makes my heart sing, something else was noted at this Vestry meeting that makes my heart sing even more—the engagement of our newcomers. Whether they’re receiving a sacrament from the bishop, joining the audit committee or a fellowship group, helping at the rotational shelter, donating to the Gala, offering a musical prelude, or baking an Easter brunch casserole—even pursuing holy orders—our newcomers are finding their home here at St. Bart’s.

With all this movement of the Spirit at our church, I have a feeling that our banner month will turn into our banner year—especially as we continue to support and encourage one another. In fact, our opportunities continue this Sunday afternoon, when Feeding San Diego returns to St. Bart’s as a Free Farmers Market. Come be the good news to households in need. Jump in and lend a hand!

Blessings,

Mother Nina+
