Over the past two weeks, we put on our first Musical Theatre Summer Camp for children ages 8-14, featuring the musical Matilda, with a performance for families on the last day. This was a tremendous opportunity to share our music and drama program with children from the local community, as 30 families participated in the camp—only 5 of whom were members of St. Bart’s.
The children worked on singing, choreography, acting, dialect, stage combat, props, and many more aspects of theatre, with instruction by me, Rev. Jacob, Anna Lettang, and Ella Crane. The talent amongst the children was considerable, and the final performance included five choreographed songs, as well as six scenes from the play. A big thank you to everyone who supported our first summer camp production!
This program is a substantial new income source for the church, and we look forward to expanding it with two camps in 2026. We have tentatively scheduled our 2026 camps for July 6-17, 2026, with children ages 6-11 doingThe Lion King from 9 a.m. to noon, and youth ages 12-17 doing The Addams Family from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Check stbartschurch.org/summercamp for more updates as we get closer!
