The Bishop’s Invitation

Last Sunday was our annual visitation by our bishop diocesan, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Susan Brown Snook. She met with members of the congregation in the MPR at 9 a.m., followed by a personal meeting with those seeking confirmation and reception into The Episcopal Church. In total, there were 12 people confirmed and received! At 10 a.m., she preached and celebrated a beautiful Holy Eucharist. If you missed it, be sure and listen to her sermon. After the brunch in her honor, Bishop Susan gathered with the vestry to listen, make some remarks, and extend an invitation.

This is my paraphrasing, but at the vestry meeting our bishop noted how wonderful it is to see St. Bart’s on such a stable and happy footing. We have a solid foundation on which to grow further into God’s dreams for our church. Given that we are doing well, Bishop Susan has extended an invitation for more members of St. Bart’s to be involved with diocesan-level work.
