When I joined you at St. Bart’s in 2023, we were concerned that there wouldn’t be enough donations to do another Rummage Sale. Hadn’t people already cleaned out their closets and garages? It turns out there was an abundance of donations that year, and the trend continues this year! Rummage Sale Cochair Connie Cross says, “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community with both their treasures and their time. The whole experience has been so reminiscent of the thrift shop, where we had so many giggles.” Indeed, this photo shows just one part of one room full of donations. The materials go on and on!
Many volunteers have stepped forward to be a part of this great sale, which benefits our ministry partners. There are a number of ways you can be involved with the Rummage Sale on Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October 4:
Donate: Final collection times are this weekend, Saturday, 3-4:30 p.m. (upper parking lot), and Sunday, 9 a.m.-noon (lower parking lot).
Volunteer: Wednesday, October 1, at 5:30 p.m. is the big move of all the stuff from the education building into the sanctuary. On sale days, more help is also needed with plant sales. Contact Connie Cross.
Bake: The bake sale is always a big hit. Contact Widney Hawthorne.
Care: Volunteer respite will be set up in the church office. Feel free to bring them treats to lift their spirits.
Shop: Come to the Rummage Sale with your neighbors, family, and friends. Spread the word!
We give thanks to all who are working so hard to make this yet another successful fundraiser for those who need some assistance in life. Come join the joy—and the giggles!
