With the on-going successes of our galas and our rummage sales, you may be wondering where all our outreach dollars go. Every summer, we will be able to provide you with an accounting (see below for 2026).
The process is this: Proceeds from the galas and rummage sales go into the General Outreach Fund. St. Bart’s Outreach Committee accepts grant applications from the community and decides how the General Outreach Fund will go to work in the world. Checks typically go out in June. In 2026, we disburse $90,300 in a breakdown that falls about evenly over five categories:
Local Community Support: 19%
Interfaith Community Services – Hope Fund $5,000
Interfaith Community Services – Weekly Sandwiches $7,500
Interfaith Community Services – Detox Center Desserts $1,300
Miramar Navy Marine Corps Relief Society $1,000
Free Farmers Market $3,000
Within our Diocese: 21%
Camp Stevens $3,000
Episcopal Community Services $5,000
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church $5,000
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church $6,000
Refugee Support: 19%
Refugee Net $6,000
Fr. Isaiah Dau $11,000
Mission to Tijuana: 18%
Community of Light $2,000
Project Mercy $7800
Vida Joven $6,000
Overseas Support: 23%
Epiphanie School, Haiti $20,000
Palestine Children’s Relief $1,000
As you can see, the breadth of our impact is wide! All our partners are immensely grateful for our ongoing support. If you have questions or comments about how St. Bart's supports our partners, please contact me or the Outreach committee. Thank you for being a part of all this good news through your support of our annual Gala and the Rummage Sale!
