Our New (to Us) Church Van

You may already have seen it in the parking lot! It looks brand new, but it’s actually a used 2024 Ford Transit van. Purchased with a portion of the General Outreach Fund surplus, this van will expand our profile and reach in our community by supporting two pillars of our Strategic Vision Plan:

• Develop new targeted outreach programs that increase awareness of St. Bart’s in nearby communities

•  Expand community awareness of St. Bart’s and strengthen the church’s connections with the larger community

Some of you may remember that we once had a truck that helped the thrift shop, but it was retired around the time of the pandemic. It’s a relief to have a vehicle again because there is such a need in our growing outreach ministries. We can use it to:

• Pick up donations from our grocery partners

• Deliver donations and sandwich bags to our ministry partners

• Drop off groceries for individuals

• Pick up and drop off donations for the Rummage Sale and the Gala

• Transport guests and their belongings at our Winter Rotational Shelter

• Transport parishioners to ministry projects in the community

• And more!

As you can see from the photo inset, the van will soon be wrapped in graphics and serve as mobile advertising for St. Bart’s good work in the community. We can’t wait to see it in action!
