I Know That My Redeemer Lives

The most powerful sermons are those in which the preacher speaks from personal experience. On Sunday, we welcomed back our Deacon Emeritus, the Rev. Deacon Bill Zettinger. Bill had been away for several months due to cardiac issues leading to an aortic valve replacement. From his heart, Bill preached to us about keeping faith and hope during difficult times.
He reminded us of what he held close over the preceding months. That we face no challenge alone. That we are not helpless, hopeless, lost, or abandoned. All because there is nothing in life that can’t be overcome by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Resurrection is the promise we live by—that death will never have the final word. We know that our Redeemer lives, and so shall we. This gives us courage to face our future, come what may.
Bill’s condition was very serious, and we give thanks to God for his recovery. In so many ways and with such joy, we welcome you back, Deacon Bill—and we give thanks to you for sharing your Easter testimony of faith and hope.
Blessings,
Mother Nina+
