Why This Is So Important

As Christians, we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ to alleviate the physical and spiritual suffering of others. At St. Bart’s, we do this through our outreach partners as we support, and sometimes join, their good work.

Some churches designate a portion of their operating budget for outreach. But we do it differently at St. Bart’s. Outreach is not part of the operating budget. Instead, we hold a gala and a rummage sale each year to raise funds for our partners—and very successfully. The majority of the funds for outreach come from the St. Bart’s Gala.

Since engaging in outreach is fundamentally who we are as Christians, helping with our Gala is something for all of us to do. Fortunately, we have a committee of volunteers who work tirelessly every year to make it fun and easy. This “fun” is for a purpose we never want to lose sight of—supporting the vital work of our partners in the community. Without you, that support would not be possible. So please, buy tickets, donate items, bring in a bottle of wine (or a case).

While supporting our outreach partners is motivation enough, our committee wants to keep this extra fun for you! If you buy a St. Bart’s Gala ticket by April 5, as a bonus, your name will be entered in a drawing for a giant $200 gift basket put together by our devoted volunteers.

As you can see, the St. Bart’s Gala is so much more than a fun evening. It’s how we engage with the needs of the community.
